Where In the World Is "Just Jamie?"

Three weeks ago, I never would have thought I'd be staring at the walls of my own classroom, again.  What a treat.

Two weeks ago, there was nothing in this room but a ladder.

One week ago, I was able to get into the room.

5 days ago, I was allowed to put things on the wall.

3 days from now, the room will be filled with 20 first graders.

It's a "portable," but it's brand new.  I hoped to get in this weekend and put some finishing touches up, but my room is so new, no one knows where the key is...ugh.  It's probably good though.  I'll rest up, catch up on 400 blogs (um, yeah), and spend time with my own kiddos who will be starting Junior Kindergarten next week!  Five full days.  Wow.  I know they're in excellent hands, but I really will miss them.

Sorry to have been so absent.  Hope all of you blog buddies are doing well.

SO missing you. But I'm glad you're preparing for your grand adventure!

Wish I could come play in crayons and glue with you...

Wow! You did all that in 5 days?

And teachers at my school are sooooo jealous that you only have 20 students! My 1st grade teachers have almost 30!!??!!

So glad to hear that you are getting so close to school. Sounds and LOOKS like all is going perfectly (minus the key of course).

How exciting!! And have a great time. Enjoy your last couple of days before you become Mrs. _____ to 20 new smiling little faces!

Love the look of your room. I love how you used that entire wall with that yellow background.

Kind of makes me miss teaching just a wee bit!

Oh Jamie!

I am so happy for you, not mention proud. What a huge decision but sounds like you've found your happy...I love that ;)

And you are a first grade teacher?? That is so admirable...much respect, woman!

Keep us updated every now and then, though I know it'll be tough. I'm also going back 5 days in a few weeks and I think the onlines will take the back burner while we get into a routine.

Best of luck :)

I've always thought the prep for teaching would be incredibly fun. I homeschooled for years and was so, so (too!) excited poring over books and setting up schedules. And I didn't even get to decorate!

It looks so colourful and inviting. The teachers I've known over the years either loved or hated being in a portable. I like the idea of fewer distractions from other classes in passing and for fresh air blowing through when needed. Looking forward to hearing about your school year as it evolves... when you have time, that is. Best of luck to you. :)
