Gone Fishin'

Hello. My name is Jamie and I'm a Bloga-holic.

Well, you know I have a wee bit of a blogging problem when I'm sitting in the hotel room on a GORGEOUS day checking blogs. Actually, I'm just letting my breakfast settle, and last night's wine.

Quick recap/highlights of the trip so far.

* Sat next to youngish, normalish, cutish, looking guy on plane. I'm in middle seat so my hubby could have the aisle. Guess what said youngish not so cute-anymore-guy does on flight? PUKES in the BARF bag? Right.Next.To.Me. Are you kidding me? I desperately try to make eye contact with a flight attendant to say HELP! But Flight attendant must think I just have an eye twitch or that I'm flirting with her starchy shirt and feathered bangs. Damn it. Thank God it was a 45 minute flight because I was feeling pretty green after getting out of there.

* Let's just say cold beer and drinks with umbrellas ... as I FLOAT around the LAZY RIVER. Aw-yeah! Need I say more?

* My kids don't miss me. Tatum is in HEAVEN getting all doted on by her Nana (and Pop) and Aunt Linda. Chase has been coined "Barnacle Boy" because he's so attached to Gran. The thing is ... I miss them.

It's funny how we fantasize about getting nights alone from our kids. Then I sit at the pool and spy on the other pre-schoolers wishing I could give mine a cuddle.

Okay, back to vacation mode....the sun and cocktails beckon (like that happens just on vacation).

Being a mom is funny that way--you think you wants some time without kids, but really it's only about 3 minutes you're looking for!

Sounds like you're having a great time! Motherhood is often a total paradox like that.

Ok, so are you at the Squaw Peak Hilton??

I think the lazy river might have given it away, at least for this former Phoenican. :)

Hope you are having a great time, and I might have to admit, I am jealous!

Enjoy your break this weekend, you deserve it!

I hear you with the missing the kids & wishing they were far far away at the same time. Your damned if you do and damned if you don't.
But please, while you are enjoying a lovely vacation sans kiddos, enjoy a lovely fruity drink for me! I could use one!

YEA!!

Enjoy yourself! We have stayed there before too!

It is gorgeous, and there is a great place to get ice cream and then sit by a fire at night! :)

Have fun!

I'm a blogaholic too. I'll gladly join you in the meetings too :)
I wish I were sipping on some nice drinks with umbrellas too with my feet up in the sun.
I guess I'll settle for the couch tonight.
Enjoy your vacation!

Enjoy your time away! I'm jealous!

I would have freaked on the barf, actually, I probably would have had to grab a bag myself!

It sounds awesome!!!!!!! Woo hoo! And I can see that it would be hard to leave the kids, but enjoy while you can!

You can miss them as long as you're having fun.

With the exception of the puke story (I mean every good vacation needs one of those, right?), sounds like you are having a good time.

And remember . . . absence makes the heart grow fonder (and saner!).

Go forth, eat, drink, bask in the sun, and be deliriously happy!

I'm glad you're having such fun. I know I'd be the same about seeing kids on vacation...it's a mom thing.

By the way, I LOVED your caption for Evie's picture!

Glad you're having a good time.
Have an umbrella drink for me and no, I'm not kidding about the lighthouse. My son has to make a model of one of the NC lighthouses for a SS project due 6/2.
I thought the end of school was supposed to be fun!

Thanks for dropping by now go answer the call of the sun & cocktails.

That's funny, this is exactly what happened to me last year and I thought I was being "kidalcoholic" and that I was pathetic. ;-D
But maybe we are under a kid-addiction. We cannot function without them because this is what we do 24/7...very interesting !
Nice "meeting" you (I came from Classy Chaos) !

Barncle Boy, Henry, Papa and I had fun, swimming, riding the train, hanging out in Uncle Henry's classroom, learning about how the mail works and making life-size cut outs of Chase and his sister (whom he DID miss). Sometimes Gran's and Nan's need time to cuddle the toddlers too. So thanks for letting me have him for a few days. Can I have Tatum next?
