A Segue And a Pear Tree

You know when you're reading something, a novel, a newspaper article, a blog, and you get a couple paragraphs in ... and you think, what did I just read?  'Cause I was totally just thinking about the time Matt Damon was all, "Hey Jamie, wanna go grab a drink?"  And I was like, "Oh, Matt Damon, come on, we're both married."  And he was all, "You know, you don't have to call me Matt Damon anymore.  You can call me Mattie."  You know that feeling?  Yeah, me too.  Or you're driving home and as you pull into your driveway you think, how did I just get home?  'Cause I totally only remember when Matt Damon was all broken down on the side of the freeway, and I was all heroic and I offered to give him a ride (insert comedic drum sound here)...

Anyways, I'm kind of there right now.  It's not a bad place to be, except you forget to remember that you're talking to a grandpa about how successful his son's adoption process went, whilst your own kids are running into people's sunburned legs.

"Pardon me.  I'm sorry.  I was day dreaming.  How's that coffee feel?  On your leg?  Aloe vera?"

TWO adoption stories were gift-wrapped beautifully today, and given to me with shiny, pretty bows.  TWO beautiful children who were scooped up into loving families through the miracle of adoption.  I think I'm walking around with the Scarlet Letter on me, only my Letter A is screaming ADOPTION.

There, I said it.

I want to.

Really, I do.

As for the husband... he indulges my fantasy every now and then.  It's a start.  Like today when he complimented the brown skinned, chubby-legged, weeble wobble, gorgeous baby to her proud (adoptive) parents.  It's a tease.  It gets me fired up.

Speaking of gift wrap... (nice segue), look what I won over at Wendi 's place...

No, not that adorable little boy up there...

Look down here...

That cool Duke visor on my little girlie (she was temporarily borrowing it).  Yup, I wish I had taken a photo of Wendi's lovely handwriting and pretty gift wrap, but I was too eager to rip it open and place it on my noggin.  Thanks Wendi!  I love it!  And the gummy bears and sour worms are DELISH.  I know they were for the kids.  I shared them, sort of.

One more camera phone picture of my Hula Boy.

The back is feeling much better!  Yay. Hope you all are enjoying your summer.  Thank goodness for frequent flyer miles and hotel points and rental car points and ...

I'm so jealous of your camera phone. It takes better pics than my "real" camera!

Looks like you guys are having a great time. Get the hubby good and soused one night then ask for adoption. Make him sign a paper.

Wowza--we have such similar daydreams, Jamie. Really, we do!!!

Damon . . . adoption . . .daydreaming . . .

C'mon Jamie's husband . . . you know you want to!

On a more serious note, if you feel your family's not complete, it isn't. Persist.

We toss this around also. It is interesting listening to our childrn's opinions about the subject of adoption.

Yay for your win from Wendi. She's awesome!

I daydream too. All. The. Time. And now, my daughter does it. She's only 16.5 months. Nice huh? So I know what you mean about being lost in your thoughts.

I think adoption is just wonderful! That is so cool!

Gotta love those travel points. We take one or two family vacations a year on them.

First off, let me start by saying that I am so jealous that you are in Maui right now livin' the life and I'm here in you-know-where. It looks like the weather there is absolutely fabulous!
Talk to me if you do want to go down the adoption yellow brick road... I have lots of friends that have adopted through both foreign and domestic channels, so I've learned a few things. Shockin'!
But, I also dream of adopting after we have our third kiddo. (I don't want to do four pregnancies... umm, no thank you!) But it will be a hard sell with the hubby as well. : )

I have those same sort of (Matt Damon) daydreams all the time. It really freaks me out when I realize I'm doing it while driving. Scary!
Man! Your kids are so freaking gorgeous!!!!
I think about adopting too. I always said I would love to have a rainbow family. I would have 12 kids if the hubby let me. ;)

My best friend from college is adopted from Korea. Her parents had one biological child & then adopted R. They loved her so much they adopted her brother. They loved them both so much that they went over and adopted another boy and girl! They're the coolest family ever!!!

I am so intrigued by the idea of adoption. Can't wait to hear more on that!

Glad to hear your back is feeling better, and hoping you are filling your days with day dreamy sequences of matt damon. What could be better? Oh yeah, don't forget to add the fruity drink.

Hi. I found your blog through 4littleMen... I have one biological child and two adopted. I love to talk about the blessing our adoptions have been. It hasn't been all easy, many hills and valleys along the way, but God is good! He hand picked the perfect children to join our family. It took my husband awhile to come on board, but he did. He is so thankful he did. Good luck. Contact me if you have any questions or need help with a place to start.

Day dreaming can be so much fun :)
Look into adoption--there is nothing wrong with looking and it might just be what your family needs!

Day dreaming is great just get someone else to drive

I had thought about adopting but it is hard for people with disabilities to adopt there are so many restrictions

It's like you're in my head sometimes, hanging out with Matt Damon on the beach and talking about all the kids we are going to adopt.

Hope you're feeling a million times better and enjoying that vacation, even if you are a bitch for going without me. :-)

You have something sparkly over at my blog! Come get it! :o)

Thanks for your "about me" regarding why you blog. I'm new to this scene and still trying to decide how to do it. My family is mortified by the fact that I might put actual real pictures on the internet. Its hard to see how beautiful everyone else's are and not say "look! here! I have some too!!" Yours are beautiful. Thank you.

Okay...so seriously...don't start a post with thoughts on Matt Damon (totally singing THAT SONG now..."i'm.......ing matt damn"!!).

I'm a firm believer in the idea that if something is supposed to happen, it will. Adoption is a wonderful thing....it just might be for your family, too!!
