So You Think You Can Blog

As you know, I'm back to the land of full-time teacher.  It's a ride much like the ride of a parent.  I wipe tears (6 times today), apply band-aids, (2 times today), tie shoes (okay, actually I have a rule that I don't tie shoes ... because ... euughhh, do you know where those things have been dragged?), and of course impart wisdom on the young.  It's up, it's down, it's fast and slow.  But through it all those sweet little boys and girls remind me that it's all for the right reasons.  And I have my favorites.  I know, we're not supposed to but come on, if you saw that chocolatey skin and big eyes looking up at you, you'd melt too.

One quick teacher story:  Today I told a boy that his number was number nineteen.  "No," he told me, "my number is a 1 and a 9."

Aww...

So here's the crappy thing.  After finally getting my email/iPhone working again, my baby, my sweet, sweet Nikon baby has gone and died on me.  (Sniff.)  I can't help but notice the coincidence between my lovey Nikon's un-timely departure and the Husband getting his hands on it for the uber-excellent first day of school shots.  And you know, I'm finding it really difficult to blog without some good, photographic evidence to support my stories.

So, I'll just have to go to the archives...

(which reminds me, where did my little babies go?)

She goes from being walked...

...to doing the walking.

I think all teachers have favorites. I teach at church and know that there are clearly those who you can't help love. And those you really wish you could love.

Glad to hear that teaching is still going well. And SO SO sorry to hear about the Nikon. I would be so bummed!

And cute pics of your little one. Don't they have a birthday coming up soon?

Your teacher story is sweet and cute. What about a kid in high school that doesn't know if 32 is odd or even because 3 is odd and 2 is even? Because that happened at my school!!!

I hope your Nikon gets a fix!

I think a full-time teacher deserves a new Nikon. Not that the archives aren't full of adorableness!

There would be homicide aplenty if Mr. Canon were ever injured or maimed and I knew someone else had recently fondled him. You have a strong resolve and perhaps are nicer than me.

I sorta miss teaching now . . .

And you know, I never even wiped one nose (I mean, that would be weird with a highschooler, right?).

I'm bowing my head in silence in memory of your sweet Nikon.

Favorites are a MUST! I have mine, too -- even at the high school level. I just pretend they all have halos on and make sure I tell them to straighten them every so often!

I have missed you on here and am even more sorry to hear about your camera than your previous issues.

Hey...use your $250 classroom money from taxes (because I KNOW that wasn't spent in your first trip for markers) and count your camera as classroom material!

The whole part about the camera dying is, well, tragic. But I'm glad to get an update from you and it's wonderful to hear that things are going so well!

Your poor little camera *sniff*! So sorry for your loss!

You are doing great things for those kiddos (both yours and the ones in your class).
